Despite its simplicity, the game had me coming back for multiple playthroughs until I had investigated every item and unlocked every ending. Gameplay mostly consists of selecting choices from branching dialogue trees and scavenging the room for clues whilst the girl is away. With 12 possible endings, One Night Stand is much like an animated Choose-Your-Own-Adventure story. The distinctive art style is attractive and the use of rotoscoping makes the girl's expressions and gestures surprisingly realistic, which gives interactions with her a human touch, but can be a little jarring when you end up offending her with your choices. It might be marginally easier with a second controller - apparently you can just add Player 2 when you think you’re about to die, let Player 1 die off and re-add it with full health. In terms of the campaign, you only need to complete one level and defeat the boss. Once again things sound slightly harder in the achievement descriptions for this top-down twin-stick shooter - one asks you to survive “at least 10 waves” in survival mode but apparently this just means beating 10 different waves, rather than reaching Wave 10. We might as well round things off with our favourite publisher, Ratalaika.
